The
global population continues to grow. By 2050, the world’s population is
expected to reach 9.7 billion, resulting in a 40% increase in food demand
over the same period. Southeast Asia, one of the main areas contributing to this development, is also characterized by a rapidly growing middle class. Increasing demand for food and food quality, the need to protect the environment, growing labor shortages, and the need to reduce production costs are the main drivers of change in Southeast Asian agriculture. Today, many government institutions are promoting the accelerated implementation of the concept of Agriculture 4.0. In addition, regional integration in economic cooperation, food trade development and agricultural innovation for sustainable food production is being promoted by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations in all Southeast Asian countries. The AGRICONNECT Conference will address these issues with influential stakeholders to be better prepared for tomorrow’s agribusiness challenges and environmental impacts. |
