Travel Advisory: COVID 19 virus on 7 August 2020
One-Month Extension of Emergency Decree and Relaxation of Immigration Entry
The Thai cabinet approved a one-month extension of the state-wide Emergency Decree from 1 August until 31 August 2020, which will be applicable to the followings:
1. Gathering of people
Public gatherings are allowed, if undertaken within the scope of the constitutional rights. Participants must, however, strictly comply with the disease control measures.
2. Operation of enterprises and activities
The following enterprises and activities can resume at their will and readiness:
2.1 Film, television show, and video production
2.2 Inflatable playgrounds and plastic ball pits, if installed permanently and officially registered
2.3 Arenas for bullfighting, cockfighting, fish fighting but they are subject to the discretion of the provincial governor in each location.
3. Additional immigration permission
The Immigration Permission (Number 12) dated 30 June 2020 is revised to allow the followings:
3.1 Foreigners with residence permits, including their spouses and children
3.2 Non-Thai nationals with work permit or granted to work under related laws, including their spouses and children. Migrant workers, whose employers or licensed recruiters are officially permitted to bring them in for a temporary residence and work.
3.3 Non-Thai nationals who have been granted access according to the special arrangements between the government agencies and international organisations, or individuals and groups granted permission by the Prime Minister after being proposed and scrutinised by the Ad Hoc Committee for the Relaxation of COVID-19 Control and Prevention Measures. They are required to strictly comply with disease measures stipulated by the said committee.
All arrivals will be supervised by authorities and disease control officers and obliged to follow all regulations, timeframes, rules, and disease control measures for international arrivals stated in Article 2 of the regulation number 12 dated 30 June 2020.
4. Relaxation of the COVID-19 Control and Prevention Measures
In order to drive the economy along with the enforcement of public health measures, the Ad Hoc Committee for the Relaxation of COVID-19 Control and Prevention Measures will collaborate with related agencies in examining, screening and making preparation to accommodate persons or group of persons whose entry will be granted by the Prime Minister or Centre for the COVID-19 Situation Administration
5. Disease Control Measures Enforcement
The owner or person in charge of each enterprise, activity, and business must comply with the disease control measures stated by the authorities. All clients and participants must always wear sanitary masks or alternative masks, practice physical distancing, check-in and check-out on Thai Chana application, comply with any disease control measures, and agree to enter state quarantine within a specified time if required.
6. Co-ordination
In case of execution complication or co-ordination difficulty, it must be discussed or consulted with the Ad Hoc Committee for the Relaxation of COVID-19 Control and Prevention Measures which is chaired by the Secretary-General of the National Security Council.
This is effective from 1 August 2020 onwards.
