Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) would like to express appreciation for all messages of concern, best wishes and inquiries about Thailand following the earthquake in Myanmar on March 28.
TCEB has been working closely with MICE stakeholders and participated in meetings with government agencies to keep track of the progress of safety measures in the affected areas. It is our determination to keep our industry friends informed of the most updated state.
Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) announced on March 31 to abolish Earthquake Incident Command Center in response to the normalcy of the situation.
The situation is now under control.
The Thai government and Thai business sector are, however, acutely aware of concern over safety as the quake has impacted high rise buildings in Bangkok. Thus, they are now conducting inspection of the affected building by third party professionals to ensure maximum safety.
According to Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), who has conducted engineering inspection of affected residence buildings, most of the inspected building structures pose no risk or remain in green category.
In this regard, TCEB would like to affirm that Thailand is taking every step possible to deliver enhanced safety and would like to reiterate that Thailand remains a safe destination for business events. We have received confirmation of key venues being the host location of international events in Bangkok that business events have been proceeding normally since Saturday 29 March following the result of their inspection of infrastructure and facilities that show no impact on their usual business.
Thailand MICE X-Change (TMX) 2025, organised by Thai Exhibition Association with the support of TCEB, is one event confirmed to run as scheduled during 2 and 3 April 2025 at Paragon Hall in the city center of Bangkok.
All Bangkok transportation networks have fully resumed their operations including the BTS Sky Train and MRT Underground Train, major transport modes carrying passengers direct to main convention and exhibition centers in Bangkok.
Likewise, hotels in Bangkok, airports and train service between cities, shopping malls and department stores are now running their normal business.
