7 February 2022, Bangkok: Thailand has been selected as the top destination for meetings and incentives by international MICE entrepreneurs at the M&C Asia Stella Awards 2021.
Mr. Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, President, Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization) or TCEB, disclosed that Thailand has been selected as the top destination for Meetings & Incentives in Asia or the Best Meetings & Incentives Destination (Asia).
Held by M&C Asia, a well-known media house in MICE and travel industry among international MICE organisers and professionals, the selection has enticed readers and international MICE entrepreneurs to submit the names of the most popular countries for MICE and Thailand has won the M&C Asia Stella Awards 2021.
“The award has proven that Thailand has remained strong in international MICE market. This is the achievement of Thailand’s MICE teams, because we have gained strong collaboration from all sectors, be it public, private, associations, entrepreneurs or communities.”
Mr. Chiruit also mentioned that, “Remaining highly popular in Meetings and Incentives will significantly benefit Thailand’s MICE and the overall economy. There was a research indicating that meetings and incentives will be the segments with highest growth in MICE industry after the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Meanwhile, TCEB has continued to accelerate MICE standards in all aspects: spanning sustainable event promotion, utilisation of innovation that solves problems and adds efficiency for events, and development of capabilities of cities and communities nationwide to serve MICE events. All endeavours are meant to enable Thailand’s MICE to stand out and respond to the needs of domestic and international MICE travellers at its best.
From the past operations until today, TCEB has used MICE as an economic stimulating tool to attract fund flows into the country, distribute income to regions and enhance MICE capabilities of communities nationwide. This year, our operations will see the adoption of Bio-Circular-Green concept or BCG, which is the government’s policy for driving the economy and society. The concept will be applied with MICE in a holistic way covering 3 dimensions, including bio economy, circular economy and green economy. For example, the development of 10 creative MICE routes that combine the capabilities of community way of life and unique community resources with sustainability concept, respecting to create new MICE routes and new activities. Furthermore, there is also a year-round lineup of MICE supporting campaigns in all forms in order to encourage the happening of safe domestic events, according to the “Unlock MICE Cities with High Standard of Safety” policy.
