Lamphun

Visit the Hariphunchai National Museum which exhibits the long history of Lamphun province. On display are more than 3,000 antiques and objects from nearby temples and archaeological sites, including an ancient bronze standing Buddha statue, a clay Buddha head built in the Haripunchai style, a collection of Buddha images in various poses, human skeletons, and everyday household items dated back more than 100 years ago.

Enjoy Lamphun’s famous braised pork noodles in longan broth. This local delicacy features dried quality longan, braised with Chinese herbs and spices together with pork to create the sweet and umami broth and tender pork texture that goes well with plain rice noodles. Take a photo at the Lamphun Street Arts on Wiang Yong Cultural Street, the new check-in spot in Lamphun just opposite Wat Phra That Haripunchai to Wat Ton Kaew.

Learn how the famous local yok dok silk is produced at the Lamphun Thai Silk Learning Center. The Learning Center includes a learning and conservation centre, mulberry plantation and a silkworm nursery. MICE travellers can learn how to thread silk from cocoons, dye fabric with natural dyes as well as join in the workshops on tie-dyeing techniques using natural dyes, and purchase mulberry-based products, and the yok dok silk products.

Phra That Haripunchai Woramahawihan temple is an important spiritual centre for the people of Lamphun. MICE travellers can enjoy the beauty of the Lamphun Lantern Festival which displayed hundred and thousands of lanterns within the temple ground from 4 October – 27 November 2023. Highlights of the festival include the beautiful display of the Yi Peng lanterns and an exhibition of lanterns from various countries from around the world.
