On 30 October, TCEB, led by Senior Vice President Mr. Puripan Bunnag, attended the opening ceremony of the 10th IEEE International Smart Cities Conference (IEEE ISC2 2024) at the Royal Cliff Grand Hotel in Pattaya, Chonburi. This conference was secured for Thailand by IEEE Power & Energy Society – Thailand with assistance from TCEB. It marked the first time the IEEE Smart Cities Conference was held in Thailand and the ASEAN region.
With this year’s theme, Smart Cities: Revolution for Mankind, the conference attracted experts worldwide to exchange knowledge and explore innovative ways to develop smart cities, with the primary focus on utilizing technology and innovation to enhance urban quality of life and promote sustainability. As a part of Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), Pattaya plays a vital role as the leading host city for international events. This conference contributed to advancing infrastructure, transportation, energy, and urban quality of life in Thailand and aligned with TCEB's goals to improve urban living and mobility.
TCEB and IEEE Thailand have been working closely to secure international conferences for Thailand, totaling more than 30 conferences in the past 10 years, contributing to the country’s sustainable economic and social development. TCEB expressed gratitude to IEEE Power & Energy Society - Thailand for continuously supporting Thailand's MICE industry over the past decade.
In addition to the IEEE Smart Cities 2024, TCEB and the Society successfully secured the IEEE PES GTD Grand International Conference and Exposition Asia (or GTD Asia 2025) for Thailand.
